I produce
professional, photographically-led and competitively priced
web sites. Clean aesthetics pull the reader
towards concisely written copy and clear page design. My
sites are incredibly good value for money for a wide range
of web services. Apart from basic html sites I can offer
RSS and podcasting, image optimization or restoration, web
radio or bespoke video. What follows is a sample of the 20+
sites I've developed. Email chris@dooks.org for a quote.

(above) had this site online for at least five years
which I did as a labour of love. The main brief was to
provide a sense of virtual community online and a
constantly updated centre programme to save paper.
Production of the site raised all sorts of ethical
questions, like the source of the electricity for the
server and so on. More sites below.
This busy nursery posed a
unique challenge, especially photographically. I was
required to take snaps of the children cleared by parents
to be photographed for the web. So it required a
wonderfully chaotic photo session of careful and respectful
compositions whilst being hit on the head with a plastic
spade! Click www.brightfuturesdaynurseries.co.uk/home.html
"Trickster, enthusiast, wily
wordsmith, potent punner: Wily Maley is the warm-hearted
dynamo that nestles at the centre of so much that is good
about Scotland and its writing." Founder of The Masters in
Creative Writing at Glasgow University, willymaley.com was
a site that required much filtering of this massively
prolific writer / scholar / tutor. Click www.willymaley.com
Less is indeed sometimes
more even if you deal with promoting a new writer and her
first novel, so working with award winner Eleanor Thom's
first site, we decided to intrigue and seduce rather than
release massive excerpts online. Links to the writer's
pre-novel academic thesis are downloadable as are press
images which help a client get in the press with a pic
faster. A very popular site. We deliberately made the text
non-copyable although version 2.0 is looming and we may
change that. Click www.eleanorthom.com
This is a highly unusual and
totally free tour of Edinburgh that you can either enjoy
from afar, or in actuality, going around the places with
either the printable map, or with the recommended added
dimension of the mp3 files as you visit the locations with
an ipod / other mp3 player / portable CD player (you can
burn with files from the site). Click www.polyfaith.com or click here to view a short film about the
project.
Anneliese Mackintosh lives
and writes in Glasgow, Scotland. She was born in Germany in
1982 and grew up in Buckinghamshire, England. She has also
lived in San Francisco, Berlin and Washington, DC. This was
an example of an affordable package which included site set
up, agreed design, a portrait photo session and a small
tutorial in how to update the site herself. Click www.anneliesemackintosh.com
